Bespoke software, in place of subscriptions
Most small businesses run on rented software: one monthly fee for the website builder, another for bookings, another for the tools behind the counter. Each platform is generic, each fee never ends, and none of it truly belongs to the business paying for it.
I build the alternative: software made for one business and owned outright by that business. It is shaped around how the business actually works rather than how a platform assumes it should, and once built it carries no platform fees and no lock-in. Websites are the usual starting point, but the same approach applies to booking systems, admin tools, and most of what a business currently rents.
Until recently, bespoke software of this kind meant hiring a development team. Advances in AI-assisted development have changed that economics entirely, and I use them to deliver custom-built systems at prices a small business can justify.
